Any ideas when applying for a quote why do they ask if you have access to another car?

Is it because if you do have access then the likelihood of needing a courtesy car is reduced? Does it mean the quote will be cheaper?

Or is it for another reason? Any ideas?

Who me ?

Question I asked myself on last renewal. Only thing I could think of was driving other car on my policy if other car was owner only driving.

I'm currently paying extra on a classic policy because I don't have access to another car. Pretty normal I think with classic policies.

It's because it has a significant statistical impact on your liability. I doubt even the insurance companies know (or care) why.

I suppose it means statistically you may be driving the primary car slightly less. Like I have access to the wife's family car and drive that whenever we take the kids instead of mine, whereas without that mine would be on the road a lot more.
