Ugh. Have had a monumentally s
t day chasing brokers, underwriters and glass companies.
Long story short, Auto Windshields came to me a fortnight ago to replace a cracked screen in my Avensis. They refused to warrant on the basis of corrosion on the leading edge of the roof. I rejected their offer and sent them on their way, still with their new screen.
Found a brilliant coachwork company who have been a delight. Bargain price for paint and remedial works.
Called glass company on Friday to organise a visit to have the glass removed: two weeks. Two ruddy weeks. Autoglass 9 days. This is with me saying the MOT is about to expire.
So, coachwork company have a glazier that will fit at £145 +vat. Can start tomorrow. Not bad considering the excess is £70.
Question is, am I better to just cough up? Will it affect my premium next year either way?
Any help appreciated. First time I've had to sit and plan for an MOT; thems the joys of shedding.
