Is it a problem to run with your Xenons on all the time?

Will it create early or expensive failure?

Volvo's with xenon's have them on.

Have had xenons on multiple cars for over a decade. In Canada was have DRLs so lights must be on. Over seven cars had one failure.

Xenon bulbs are £120 each from BMW ( don't buy them from BMW !)

Good point. Here in Oz its quite bright and wide roads tend not to be such a drama.

Thanks for all the responses, guess its not an issue. However at 120 quid in the UK a bulb I'd rather not have to replace anything!

I believe that Xenons are much better than traditional lights at continuous running - from memory the highest wear on a Xenon bulb is turning on an already warm bulb, or indeed flashing the lights off-and-on.

Only if your xenons aren't levelling correctly / are set too high. Correctly levelled xenons are often less dazzling than standard halogen lamps.

I leave mine on all the time, always have, habit I guess. That and I don't like the yellow DRL on my CC.

They definitely diminish over time. I did 40k miles with mine on over a year and then swapped to a 12k mile car exactly the same which had them set to auto and the difference was staggering as they'd probably only been on for maybe 3k miles.
