£30k car choice...
Discussion
the £100k car choice run by PH got me thinking it's all well and good looking for the dream cars - but what would you buy for a more realistic (?) budget say £30k? The rules are simple:
Only one car
New/used immaterial
Must be able to seat 4 people
No older than 2008
I rather suspect that there'll be a flurry of BMs put up as the ideal purchase at this price point - and if that works for you why not? There are likely to be Rangies on here but they're likely to be at 60,000 miles - are they really the best place for your money at that age/mileage? So with that in mind - off you go, let the arguments commence

It all depends on your requirements obviously, but this was my situation at the end of last year and went for a BMW F30 328i m sport with 8 speed Zf sport auto box. I think it is a great all rounder.
Seats 5 comfortably enough, large boot, cruise control, low road tax, sat nav etc, 40mpg on a run. Ideal for long journeys
50:50 front to rear weight distribution, 0-62 sub 6 seconds, Petrol, paddle gear shift, sport mode, good ride on 18" RFT's, pleasing to the eye imo
I am very pleased with it and would struggle to think of a replacement that is equally as capable in all areas
