Hi guys and girls,

Been a while since I posted on here, more of a reader I guess but I have a (good) dilemma.

The E30 M3 is parked for the minute and needs some bits doing of which I will get round to at some point but right now I want something for some fun and the title gives the budget away. Really fancy an Exige S1 but there are not many to choose from and I have just had a sale fall through on one of them which has left me feeling somewhat deflated to say the least. Anyway criteria as follows - I own a garage so maintenance is not an issue.

1. No deprecation, it needs to be a bit of an 'investment' - I can't lose money on cars. I’m happy to spend money on them but the resale value needs to be stable or have the possibility to increase.
2. It will not be an everyday car - something extreme is preferred hence the S1 Exige is at the top of my list at the minute
3. It has to have doors a roof and a windscreen so no Caterham’s, atoms etc – I don’t mind Caterham’s etc but just do not think the
4. Relatively cost effective to service and parts costs not too horrendous (so no 348's etc)

Dare I mention it again I do have my heart set on an Exige - the S2's look good but the S1 looks so much better. Will appreciate any alternatives and ideas please?

Thanks smile

Porsche 964

They only seem to be going one way at the moment.

Air cooled 911s seem like a sure bet if you can find a nice one in budget

E46 CSL if you can find one in budget, or if you could stretch to a 1M, they'll only increase in value

E46 CSL makes for a good combination along with the E30

Some good ideas. Thought of a 964 but running costs can be very heavy. I like the idea of a TVR. As much as I love modern BMW's I find them too easy to drive if you know what I mean although a 1m is very temping but over budget

Will post pics of whatever I choose to waste/invest my money on! smile

I was thinking that new Mustang.
Not sure how many they are allowed to sell, if its popular and in short supply prices will stay strong.....but I could be very wrong

Maserati Gran Sport. Future sought after low end classic where you can get a really good one at that price then just need to keep it good. DB7 Vantage, possibly, as well.
