MOT and private plate
Discussion
I recently bought a car....
It was coming off a Private Plate and as part of the deal had a new MOT.
It had the MOT on the day that the acknowledgement arrived assigning the old number to the car. Therefore the latest MOT certificate has the car's old private plate, but the correct chassis number. A check online show's that the the new mot is not linked to the new plate.
I will shortly be sending off to put my own plate on it.....
Can this unholy mess be sorted? Should I just send both MOT's off with the paperwork?
I'm confused... and so is the system.

This is hard work tonight. Let me create a timeline...
23.4.14 Previous owner sends paperwork off with MOT1 to remove his plate Lets say ABC1
30.4.14 DVLA put's paperwork in post with MOT1 reassigned to dated plate, Let's say YY 55 JJJ
1.5.14 Previous owner (who has not yet received DVLA paperwork) MOT's car for a year with ABC1 on it.
2.5.14 DVLA Paperwork received.
I now have old MOT on correct plate, and new MOT on owners previous plate (but corect chassis no).

k ups can usually be rectified at your local VOSA testing station. Look in the Yellow Pages (lolz) for HGV testing, bus testing etc, make sure that it is a VOSA site and not private, and go to their front counter.Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
