The one car you miss that you've owned and deeply regretted selling!

I managed to not only sell these two, but managed to sell both at their respective 'bottom of their markets"!!!

Sold my rust free E30 M3 for £5k



And sold my mint CSL with 40k miles for £24k



Really wish I had not sold either!!!!

No picture and not me but it always comes to the forefront of my mind when this kind of discussion happens... My father bought a 280 Brooklands Capri new and kept it 2 years and sold it at the usual second hand loss...

I sold my silver Hartage wheel equipped (almost) rust free E30 M3 for £4500. Mine was E-reg though. About 2004 and prices have only gone one way.

It's gutting and probably something as motorists on a motoring forum, we skirt around but sometimes circumstance dictates etc.

But I suppose at least we had them and owned them! Better to regret something you've done than haven't!

A yellow Mk2 Escort 1600 Mexico... absolutely perfect, bought for £1,100 when I turned 18 and sold a year and a half later for £700.

My sapph cossie. Couldn't sell it whole so ended going in bits, just to add insult to injury. Would be worth around £10k

Ouch. That's £20k's worth now.

It was almost 30 years ago, so can't have regrets on that front. The fact that I sold it to buy a Datsun 160JSSS was a regret though. It might have been a fair bit faster and better inside, but it was nowhere near as much fun as the Escort.

There's one for sale a few miles away from me at a dealership. Iirc, it's up for £11k!

I've only seen it in passing, mind. No idea of the details.

Tell me about it the 928 to me was my idol as a kid. As Clarkson said in the 90's was way before it's time and that was ten years later too!

It's in my profile garage I think still, but to me motoring perfection? I've driven all sorts but that was the one car that I felt like wanting to be outside watching it drive past but also wanted to be inside driving!

Same here. I owed my Dad's 3500. Went to the showroom with him in 1979 to collect it brand new and still remember the smell. My brother owned it and then he gave it to me when I was 18. Loved it and wish I knew where it was. YPG 548T.
