I've always wondered. If you suffered a completely non fault accident, damage etc. was covered by the at-fault's insurance company, could you also claim for the increase in premiums as a result of having to declare a non fault accident to your insurance, come renewal.

Afterall, statistically you are more likely to be involved in another accident, but through no fault of your own. What would be the insurance co's attitude towards this?

How would you know how much extra to claim for, as there'd be no way to tell which part of the increase was due solely to the non-fault accident, and they'd all be future prices that you couldn't quantify at the time of the claim, nor would they be a loss as you hadn't paid the increased premiums yet.
