Paint problem

Hi,

My Wife bought a 2007 B-Class 5 weeks ago.

When pressure washed 2 weeks into ownership the paint came off the wing mirror.

The car was booked in for this plus a rattle to be looked at.

The garage fixed the rattle by replacing the calipers but refusing to do anything about the paint because we may have scratched it or used a shampoo with a chemical in it!

I don't feel this is acceptable, what is the best next step to take, (if any)?

Go to the supplying dealership and pressure wash all the staff (including the manager) into submission you pressure washing fiend.

Sorry, but yes, this one's on you I'm afraid.

Small blemish in the paint, pressure washer gets water under the paint, lifts a sheet of paint off. Especially on plastic surfaces.

Use a sponge/wash mitt for the stubborn stuff. Blasting with karcher isn't the answer.

I've never liked using pressure washers for that reason exactly, hope you get it sorted.

Wife took the car to one of those hand washes, and the chap stopped when he saw the paint was coming off.

At least it's a small area..

If you want to pressure wash it, do it at a VERY shallow angle. It doesn't sound/seem as harsh on the painwork.

Pressure washing is a waste of time, only use it for loose chuncks of dirt but not for general washing.

The only reason I use one at all is because I've got a snow foam lance for it.
