Parts founds on my dad's driveway

My dad had his Volvo XC60 serviced on Thursday, drove to London today but his wife just sent us these photos of bits found on the drive this morning under where his car was parked. (Terrible English but I'm hungover.) what are they and should he be worried?





Part number on the black disk is PA66-GF35 but this doesn't being up anything on google? Have the technicians dropped surplus parts in the engine bay and not been bothered to get them out or does Dad need to take it in ASAP?

There are no noises or performance issues and the air on is working just fine

cant make out what the long thing is ? hope its not shredded belt

the black round thing looks like something you pop off to access a bolt /nut possibly on a tensioner?

PA66-GF35 is a material code, not a part number.

These numbers refer to what material its made from rather than a part number - glass filled nylon. As for whether its important or not, can't help there!

They don't look like bits that should be on a car though.

I'd have a look under the bonnet. Looks to me like one of the belt ribs on the fan belt has departed and taken the cover off an idler pulley in the process. The remains of the belt may still be driving everything round so no loss of air or alternator.

The other number looks like F-228824-91, which is a pulley cover:

Edited to add: Not sure it's off the Volvo though!

Looks like one of those covers that go over the alternator pully bolt

It may be a long shot but the round thing looks like the cap from a reservoir of a brake bleeding kit I recently purchased:



Segmented around the outside too.

Not sure on the long thing but as one poster has already said its a cover for the tensioner wheel or the alternator pulley, you remove that to get to the fixings.

Has it had a new belt or the belt removed and refitted?

Just to be safe I would get it checked.

That looks like a big o ring or seal to me. Like the ones that go around the air filter box.

Zooming in on the picture I do believe its a shredded alternator belt , this in turn has come off and pulled the cap off.

I would get checked ASAP as it looks like they've come off the flux capacitor.

Alternator Clutch pulley has/is in the process of dying and has stripped a rib off the belt. Seen it many times.

Car was in for a 55k service, it's a company car and being replaced in August so dad didn't even check which service it was going in for!!

He will be calling Volvo as soon as possible and they will probably come and pick the car up from his work on Tuesday to check it over

I would agree with a rib of a belt but the other bit looks like a cam cover cap? but probably some other less important cover in reality. It looks brand new though
