Car Tax Query

Had the renewal for the Bricks continued use as from 1-6-14, which i went on line last week (tues) and paid it all up no probs

now the firms van is sorned at the moment, and i want the tax to start 1-6-14.
got onto the DVLA site and there isnt an option to do this,it only says tax will start 1-5-14

Can i get around this rather stupid bit of logic?

It will allow you to tax online from 1 June nearer the end of the month. You can drive the vehicle straight away without the tax disc as I think you get five days grace.

If its currently sorned you can only tax it from the first day of the month you want the tax to start. Otherwise you would be getting a few days free tax.

as the previous poster stated VED running from the 1st when coming off sorn or registering a new vehicle isn;t available until the end of the preceeding month - you can then drive from 0000:01 on 1/6/14 even if the VED disc hasn;t yet arrived ( although a print out of the details is the new 'tax in post' sign - but the details shoudl be on ANPR etc.
