Fun & almost family friendly for 15k

Hi
Looking for some PH advice.
Looking for a a fun car for 15k of less.
Main criteria :
1. Fast-ish (a 7-9 sec 0-60) .. so nippy more than fast is ok
2. Will need reasonable mpg , >40 on a long run (I will do 15k a yr, so reliable)
3. Nees to carry 2 kids in the back sometimes.. bigger than 2+2 (not 911 size !)
4. Feels the part when driving it
5. Not worried about image
6. Preferrably a convertible (for the fun factor)
SO far I'm looking at convertibles :
Audi A5 2.0 TFSI
Audi A4 .. not sure which
Saab 9-3 Aero
BMW 3 series (various) ..although I do find them uninspiring (sorry , just a personal thing)
Any suggestions out there would be greatley appreciated, I realise a want my cake & eat it here.

Volvo C70! Slightly better than an A4 Convertible and a very nice one can be picked up well within your budget. A 2011-12 with around 25-30k miles should be reasonable for 15k.
Get it in D5 (2.4 turbo diesel) form and it will be a frugal (about 50mpg) yet fun and full of torque and have a lovely grunt. Get it in T5 form (2.5 turbo, same engine as the Focus ST), and your kids will be screaming!
For your pounds you get 4 tremendously comfortable seats, a fantastic sound system and all the air bags you could ever wish for along with plenty of other toys. You've also got the added benefit of it being a hard top.
Plus, its a Volvo SAFETY SAFETY SAFETY.

Definitely a SAAB when it comes to a convertible, the newer high pressure 2.0 Turbo ones return good economy (SAAB kept improving it) and now that they are back in business it should be easier to source parts. You could always go for one with their excellent Haldex Gen 4 XWD.
Non convertibles, there's always the SEAT Exeo 2.0T which has a lot of clever gadgets, good looking car and quite rare to see. Returns similar mpg to the SAAB, lower insurance group and kicks out 138 BHP/Tonne power and 196 Nm/Tonne torque (197BHP & 280NM) Looks good in both the saloon and estate.
