Need help on next family wagon, criteria being:

Daily commute - 30 miles (used to have a Civic EP3 but now use the OH Clio DCi, so MPG must be between the 2)

Weekend use:

2 adults + 2 kids
4 bikes and big enough boot for random crap

Budget - 10K

Thanks!

Any mid-size four seat car (Focus, Leon Golf?) with a towbar and fit a Mottez or Thule four bike carrier.

That should do the job

Anything mid sized to large. Best bet to get one with a tow bar so that it could carry a 4 bike rack of the towbar mount design.

Following would prob suffice:
Mondeo estate diesel
Accord estate diesel
BMW 320d or 520d estate
Merc C or E220cdi
Volvo V50 or V70
Audi a4 or a6 avant diesel

Should be able to pick up one of the prestige marques up to 5 yr old with up to 70000 miles.

You might as well add an Octavia to the list of possibles as well.

Car Giant have 2012 Skoda Superb estates at sub £10k, leggy ones but they're massive and great cars.

Thanks for the input. What are your thoughts on a HONDA CIVIC 2.2 i-CTDi - could fit a detachable tow bar to that for the bike rack?

I have previous shape Megane Estate, fits your requirements exactly, not sure what the latest one is like though.
