5-6k daily driver ???

Looking for a quick daily driver that looks the part and will do 30mpg on a run and not to exspensive to run,
Previous cars include classic mini, Clio 182, mx5 mk2.5.
At the top of my list at the moment is Honda s2000 pre-faclift
Other options are m3 e46
Tvr s3
Z3m
Any othere options ?
Any advice ?

Boxster S is a great machine. Absolutely fantastic drive. Have heard stories about their engines being prone to failure, but I think thats true for a lot of porsches of that era.

Z4 3.0 is a good car. Not as focused as the Boxster but very good none the less. Corners well and has a fair level of feedback.

Maybe a 350z is a contender too? I drove one with the earlier 280ish bhp engine, and thought It was a hoot. Not quick and nimble, but big and relentless, muscle type fun! Good one could be had well within your budget.

That said, were it my money, it would be the M3. Not driven one, but from being a passenger it was just sublime. Would be concerned you might need to spend a bit more than £6k to get a very decent one though.

Circumstances would help especially with your username. If you're 20/21 then an M3 or a CTR is a bad idea as insurance is woeful. Go for something less common. TVR would be an interesting option.

I'm sure if he's looking at the cars on the list, he will have considered insurance.

Besides, it wont be insurance that's the killer on the M3, it will be the overall running costs.
