Clifford help!

Just bought an older car with a Clifford alarm fitted and it only has one key fob. Unfortunately I don't have the security pin either, so what are my options? Obviously I am concerned that should the one fob I do have fails, I won't be able to disarm the alarm or immobiliser.

Is there another way of obtaining the Pin and / or buying another fob?

Also, can the time the alarm takes to arm itself be extended?

Any decent alarm installer will be able to get around that I would think. Once you have the pin you can add an eBay remote easily.

You should be able to a) get another fob coded and b) have the PIN reset, get in touch with a Clifford dealer or an auto electrician who'll sort it out. I had one on an old car, had it rewired so it actually worked and it was great.

Contacted my local Clifford agent and they said without the pin I have to remove or replace the whole alarm!

Remove the the clifford brain, or transponder or whatever you want to call it, and send it away, it's the only way to get it done really, it's easy to remove.
There is a guy on ebay who sells second hand clifford stuff, he's the man you need to send it too, he will charge you peanuts to reset the code and add anything to the system you want.

Just been and had a quick look, although not entirely sure what for? I'm guessing the alarm will be hidden from plain sight? I'm thinking a mobile specialist might be the best idea? I don't want to risk screwing anything up by diving in myself.

Small black metal box, follow wire back from siren. Odds are it's pushed up the back of the dash.

If it's on the car that I think it is it will be behind the dashboard, most likely behind the drivers side under dash*. You can't just remove it without doing some wiring to the immobiliser 'cuts' or the car won't start, so if your not sure get a pro to remove it.

• The fitter may have squeezed it behind the centre console, brain size dependant.

find the owners manual /or back of its brain , the orignal code is the last 4 digits of the serial number theres a chance the last owner didnt change it

what model alarm is it ? can often put them in valet with the remote

It will be close to the ignition.
Try 1234 someone may have changed it for ease or even had it reset before?
Could try last 4 digits but people say you have to find the transponder and remove it from the case as the the numbers on the outer case are false.
I'm not sure I believe the last 4 digit thing Is correct anyways.
You can just buy a second hand transponder with a known valet code and swap it over, that's what I was going to do then I met the ebay man and he fixed it for like 15 quid and added 2 more remotes for me.
What alarm is it? Concept 300?

You can put them in valet mode with the remote but that won't help you programme a new fob I'm afraid.

I'll take a closer look tomorrow. I don't actually know what model it is. I'm actually considering upgrading with a new alarm now anyway, as it's not a car I plan parting with anytime soon.

Any suggestions for a good quality upgrade? I'm also fitting a tracker.
