They've begun. It's trending on Facebook so I had a curious click to see what those sharing it think... and wow. It's these stories that really do highlight the number of idiots there are out there. 90% calling it a waste of taxpayers' money.

It's just another awareness ploy isn't it? It will have been load to the police for a short duration for the reasons outlined in the article. Ignoring my own inner voice which is quite clearly shouting "you lucky bar stewards" I'm not sure the police themselves would really enjoy it. They'll be cold and wet for the most part, it is summer afterall.

I'm open to correction on this as I've never driven one but I could imagine something like that being rather twitchy, and despite the iron girders it appears to be made of, as a driver you probably feel rather vulnerable.

Doing the job they do, I'd much rather be in a nice "safe" saloon car.

One that probably costs more than the atom?

Yep. It won't be used for any high speed pursuits. It'll turn up at bike shows, bike meets and The Ace and act as a "Talking About Road Safety" catalyst. That's all.
Once the biking public are bored of it the stickers will come off and it'll go back to Atom.
