Just seen this in the classifieds.

On the program I thought it got sold for £40k to a collector. Anyone know the story behind it?

Its says "This motor car is to be sold by auction on Tuesday 11th March in London..."

I think it's a mistake - it says the auction date is March.

Or maybe the programme was recorded before March

According to the auction results ( http://www.coys.co.uk/past-auctions.php?auctionID=... ) it sold for £46600. (and I do believe that all the other cars from the series were in the same auction, listed immediately after it).

TV programmes are often recorded several months before they're broadcast. Anything about car restoration (unless it involves Mawwio & Bernie) was probably done last year.

No, it's correct - the auction was on March 11th.
