Your motoring predictions for 2024 ?

Anyone think it would it be a good plan to let everyone make their predictions for how the motoring landscape will be in 2024, sounds a long way off but it isnt really, 2004 doesnt seem 2 minutes ago, 2004 cars still seem quite new to me.
Perhaps give it a week, then get the mods to lock it so it cant be tampered with, perhaps repeat every year or two and then open it when the time arrives to see who got it right ?

The noses on cars will be even bigger and more bulbous to provide pedestrian safety but the rears will also be the same just in case you inadvertently slect reverse and hit a pedestrian.
VEL will have been overhauled to refelcet the massive increase in electric cars, based on their electrical ratings, like fridges. An A rating will be low etc etc.
Petrol engines will be limited use and taxed more heavily and will be banned from city centres.
Motorcycles will be far more popular as fuel cell motorcycles and electric motorcycles are offered free parking in shelters.
Fingerprint recognition for starting cars banishes keys to history and the Government rules that all these initial fingerprints can be used by the Police.
Average speed cameras will spread over far greater areas to enforce speeding but the totting ban will be replaced with far higher fines that act to increase with each infraction.
Smoking is banned in cars.
Mobile phones get so sophisticated that sensors are fitted to cars that block all but emergency calls so drivers ahve to stop or hold their phone out of the window to use it..

I would argue that in the case of the i3 there is a need, because nobody would buy a BMW 1 series with that price tag. The i3 looks are quite different from a normal petrol car (or like an abomination in your eyes) and that’s one of the main selling points for the target audience. To stand out at any cost. Anyway, this is off topic. 
2024 will only be one or two generations of car away (car+facelift = 6-10 year lifecycle), so not much will happen in reality.
I predict that Electric options will be coming more mainstream, possibly as an optional extras on many cars (maybe the Fiesta, or Ka for example). So a 1.2, a 1.4 or an electric.
Annual Tax on evil gas guzzling world poluting destruction vehicles will be £1,000 per year. Instead, 50 year old buses that plume the environment with clog stench will be encouraged.
The 2024 911 will be similar as the outgoing model, with at least one version having hybrid tech. Boxster and Cayman will be low-powered engines plus turbo.
The BMW x8 will be launched. It will be called the Fugly Bus.
Kia will have seriously dented the market of Vauxhall. Spy pics hint at their first fabbo hot hatch. Everyone excited. Haters secretly excited too. It will be overpriced but be a fantastic contender in the market.
Vauxhalls will still break frequently. Their range will look great.
Audi will have found another 2 niche markets and launched the Audi A3A and the Q2. Both will look the same as the rest of the range.
White will be sooo last century. Silver will be the renewed 'cool'. Black will still be as popular as ever.
Ford will have got its mojo back and released something that looks awesome.
Range Rover will be announcing record sales and are in a secret tentative panic state as to reaction of their new range.

Fair enough for today, that's a good point.But in the future I would hope the average motorist would have access to a reasonably priced normal looking electric vehicle.
Having an EV wouldn't require you to be some sort of lentalist looking to stand out - just a regular option like diesel or petrol.
Mine is a bit "glass half empty", but since I cannot actually remember any motorist friendly legislation being passed then I'm probably thinking along the right lines...

You can apply for a licence, at huge expense and with many hoops to jump through, to operate an electric delivery van if the State deems your work necessary for the Greater Good.

If you have compulsory black box tracking then there is no need for average speed cameras as the data from the black box can be used.- Speed bumps will have spread even to major arterial routes.
