Z4MCP vs. Porsche 968 CS - which one the better drivers car?

Does anyone of you have any experience with the 2 cars above. I had a 996.2 and liked it a lot, however it could have been even more focused for me.

I thing both the Z4MCP and the CS (maybe less) present great value and potential. The CS is considered as a all time great, the Z received mixed feedback back in the day. Which one is the more involving drive? The M engine must be miles ahead ...

I would have loved a Z4 M Coupe, my budget didn't stretch far enough at the time.
Personally I think the design has aged very well.

I would also consider a ZM coupe (Z3 shape). Be more raw than the Z4 and still newer than the 968CS.

Similar dilemma but i own a cayman s but keep thinking I should of bought a Z4 m coupe. I do love Porsches but for some reason keep being drawn to the Z4 m coupe. Need to test drive one.....

Ride quality on the Z is very poor. Engine truly is one of the all time greats.
I would have one again but definitely not as a daily drive.

I had a Z4M Roadster, it wasn't a very resolved car, the engine is very special but the rest....

I was in a position to spend some cash on a car recently....

Sold my E46 M3, and was looking at the Cayman S, 968 CS and Z4MC...

My requirements, good car to drive, and wont lose all my cash on it in depreciation....... im not looking to make money, just not have the car half in value over 6 months like what happened to my M3, not that i regret it too much, it was and still is a fantastic car.

I couldnt see a 968CS in good enough condition, baring in mind their age, i ended up buying a Z4MC for no other reason than i thought it was a fantastic car.

Engine is fantastic, it is quite stiff though, it does make you drive faster and more hooligan-ish than the M3, it take a little while to get use to, but i think its a great car... so great that i didnt bother driving the Cayman S.

I had a Z4MC from new (allegedly first one delivered in London by Holland Park BMW). The engine and low end performance was great. The ride quality was horrendous. I tracked it at Bedford and while quick, it still didn't feel OMG quick (that's in the context of 40k +, at 15k of course it's a different set of expectations). The interior quality is that of a 20k+ Z4 and at the time I thought a Cayman would have been a better buy as a genuine 40k car rather than the top end of a 20k car. I don't regret selling it (it was a 2nd car - I used it as a daily for 1-2 months and it didn't cut it). I love the exterior shape and the engine but the rest of the package didn't add up unfortunately.

I now fancy a 944 Turbo funnily enough

Do it, a good 944T is at least as good as a 968 in the twisty stuff and will murder a 968 on the straights .

Maybe so, but the 3.0L 16V is by far the more responsive engine (2.5T is something of a lag monster when not at 10/10ths) and the 968 is hugely more resolved than the 944.
And for clarity, NO stock 944 was as good as a stock 968 in the twistys.
