Iphone/music streaming in the car

Okay.

My very expensive Range Rover kit has not worked. I don't know why yet, but am not a very happy bunny as it's taken me 5 hours today for it to not work.

So on to alternative solutions...

I think I'm reduced to a FM transmitter. Can anyone recomend a plain and simple one that just works. I don't want or need bluetooth hands-free or anything else of that ilk....

Probably not what your after, but I was looking for the same for my work truck.

Haven't bothered to have an expensive kit installed.

I've been quite happy with my http://www.gromaudio.com

it can stream from bluetooth, the headphone connector or your iPhone/ipod connector

As a bonus it can let you use your phone hands free via the radio.


I've tried FM transmitters but at best the audio was poor and in busy places (london) I could never find a free channel. But they are popular so I guess that other people's experience must be different.

It uses the CD changer input so handles most cars ...

Been through these types of option, and for my cars year there aren't any. The range rover was meant to work unofficially, with a lot of work to get to the radio, but has not.

Well I went with http://www.amazon.co.uk/Belkin-Car-FM-Transmitter-...

It had the best reviews and I liked the mount for the phone.

But remember that the car's aerial is used to receive the signal. So ideally you want to get the transmitter as close to the aerial as possible.

I imagine that the RR's build quality (sturdy, thick metal) might also attenuate the signal.
