You know the one where the car is on a dyno and accelerates up and down the gears.

Is it me or does the revs at 3rd gear change sound wrong, also maybe its the speakers but the car sounds bland compared to other supercars.

Reminds us that modern cars are actually still mechanical.

Great advert. Shame that our tv regulations don't allow advertisers to hint at performance or speed, the closest they can get is showing a car on a rolling Road. Still like the advert though!
They tried showing interesting driving as a computer game the the GT86 and that was cracked down on after a while...

Bland is the last word I'd use to describe that advert.

Love it or hate it, at least it sticks in your head, unlike the fuel efficiency and CO2 figures for the latest petrol hybrid people carrier.

The advert has obviously been around a while, but I never get bored of it..it is the only advert on TV that doesn't immediately make me want to switch over

I'd agree that 2nd to 3rd gear change sounds differentto first to second but don't the others after that? No fuel cut?

Good excuse to watch it again though!

Don't know who they use for their advertising campaigns, but they have some excellent ideas whilst still working within the "rules"

I always liked "Tell Charles I'm on my way. TAXI!" too. Although, by all accounts, it wouldn't work as a Audi advert these days wink

Your speakers must be knackered, the engine sounds glorious and the advert is one of the best car ads on tv.

I though this ad for the M5 was also very clever. Wonder if it's the same agency.

(on a side-note, cameras have come a long way. A GoPro fits in the palm of my hand whereas that contraption takes up an entire bloody door).

Probably not - from memory, Audi's agency is BBH (and has been since 'Vorsprung Durch Technik' was used as a marketing device), and most large companies tend to have clauses in the contracts with their agencies that prevent the agency working for any of their competitors.
