Gleneagles on Friday - Best route

Hi folks,
I "won" in a charity auction over the Christmas period a 4 ball at Gleneagles and myself and three friends are driving up on Friday, our tee time is 1400 and we are starting out around J23 of the M1 and I was wondering what if any advice anyone that drives it regularly or is in the know would have on the best route?
The two main options would appear to be A50, M6 or M1/M18/A1M.
We are planning on setting off at around 0500-0530 and swapping over drivers on the route so we can all get some rest on the way up etc. With the idea being getting there in time for a spot of lunch then warm up and on the first tee for 1400.
