Hi there,
non depreciating car ,which I can use as a daily run about is there such a car I should buy.

Rather than buying a newer car which will plummet in value up to £30,000.

I was thinking about a 993 Porsche or ??????

Obvious answer... TVR, values have been very strong recently. Several models to choose from.

Id suggest a tuscan.

tvr in Henley told me they were unreliable 15 years ago, is that the case?

They can be, but compared to a 20+ year old 911 I wouldn't think there would be much in it! smile

Get one that's properly sorted and you'll be fine.

5 year 100k mile warranty on engine rebuilds these days. Better than most big manufacturers!

A Delta intergrale evo 2 springs to mind for some reason! LHD only though?

Edited much later, now I'm on a more decent platform. This is the actual car I was thinking of (too much hassle to copy paste a link earlier).

Early Aero 8? You'll get more 'positive' attention than driving a Lamborghini - I can vouch for that! wink

Watching with interest as I'm looking to do exactly the same but with a £20-25k budget. I'm leaning toward a 993 too.

As a total Francofile and owner of a DS if I had 30K it would be going on either of these, totally depreciation proof and effortlessly cool.

Worth every penny, just for the reason you stated - rarity.

yeah, old Beemers, Mercs, Porsches and all that are nice but not in the same league IMO

They will be worth double that in a few years I reckon.

What about a Morgan? Might have to slightly up the budget though, depending on the chosen model.
Later ones aren't quite a classic (yet) either.

It really doesn't get any cooler than that, does it smile.

My money would be towards a mint W111 or W114.

Or an XJ6 Coupe lick

Lovely Escort RS cosworth Monte Carlo in the classifieds at the moment. That won't depreciate though not sure about that if you use it for a daily drive.
