E46 Beemer drop top

I had/have the opportunity of a silver e46 330ci soft top 32k 2002 flood damaged in 2007 or maybe 2009 carpets and seat motors replaced but it was written off. Hard to find in Northern Ireland no rust anywhere. Had the window motors replaced a couple of yrs ago. £3600 asking price but he said he wouldn't move much. What u guys think? I would have thought any of the flooding issues would have been ironed out by now.

£3,600 for a 2002? Surely you can get one that hasn't been subject to damage and written off for that money?

The mileage isn't particularly relevant. Put it this way, I think I'd rather have another one with twice or even three times the mileage on over the one you have described. At that age a lot is going to be worn out regardless. And 32k miles over 12 years, to me, means a lot of shorter journeys around town etc. And water damage to electronics can manifest itself in lots of very annoying and subtle ways that might not be immediately noticeable.

These were all my concerns too. As it's a soft top i don't mind the idea of 3k a year as it's maybe only used for 4-6 months and the miles then aren't that far out. It's hard to find any over here and realistically it is likely to have 120k on it and then I prob would opt out

Get a higher mileage car which hasn't been flood damaged. Flooding can cause all sorts of nasty issues with cars which don't show up until much later in life.

I had a 51 plate 330Ci Sport Conv from new that I put 100k miles on with the only trouble in all that time being a duff reverse parking sensor, fixed under warranty. Loved that car, might yet buy another. I wouldn't touch anything with a history of flood damage though.

32k prob because it has been off the road so long with ongoing engine problems ?
