With all of this talk of a 4cyl Porsche, wouldn't it be cool if they made a miniature 911? The exact same shape and proportions of the regular 911, but made smaller so the engine fits snugly in the engine bay and as a 2 seater only.
It could be a 911 the size of a hot hatch.
It'll probably never happen, though. I'm just thinking out loud.

I don't think it would be legal - headlights and bumpers too low down, and a number of other things. As soon as they started playing with the proportions to get it through type approval, it'd look weird.
Mind you, the original 911 was smaller than most current hatches. Just get one of them and shove a new engine in it. Or better get one of them and don't shove a new engine in it.

Given the attitude of some existing 911 owners who believe that the Boxster, Cayman, Cayenne and the previous generation 924, 944 dilute the brand & ruin the image (note not the imagine)the idea of taking a 911 making it smaller and putting "the wrong" engine in it might be seen as the last straw!
What I'd like to see is a Porsche more like the modern day 924S, perhaps similar in size to a Ginetta G40 fitted with a N/A flat 4 for MX5 money.

So you want Porsche to make a 2 seater, that's smaller than the 911 and for it to have 4 cylinders.
Umm, yeah, so you know that thing called the Cayman...
Cayman is mid-engined and also near enough the same size as a 911. Additionally, it looks significantly different from the 911. I'd quite like to have a miniature 911.Umm, yeah, so you know that thing called the Cayman...

Adolf was years ahead of you. It could be a 911 the size of a hot hatch.
