Redex, Cataclean, or Shell V+ Diesel?

I want to keep my exhaust soot to minimum so my DPF lasts longer, given the price of DPF replacements a few extra quid on one or more of the above products could be well worth it.
Some people seem to swear by V+ Diesel and say the mpg saving is worth it, others say they see no benefit at all and just go for ASDA fuel. I've tried it once and think the car performed a bit better, but it might just have been in my head because I was looking/hoping for an improvement.
