Speeding letter
Discussion
Hi,
Anyone know what the envelopes look like that speeding fines come in? Car in husbands name so if I'm driving it will still come to him and then he can say I was driving obviously. Not sure if it's clear that the letter is from police or speeding fines dept.
Have no idea if I've been caught anywhere recently but have noticed more police around our area with either the hand held cameras or vans with cameras in bank, so I suppose it's always a possibility.
Would like a heads up if I gave though, so I can at least have his dinner ready if he's going to open a letter when he gets in from work!
Thanks

If it was Nice-Man-in-DayGlo-with-Hairdryer, then he'd stop you there and then rather than write to you.Lady driver said:

Thanks for the advise. The one I saw last week was a lone policeman on the side of the road with his camera. This week I've seen the vans parked up on the side of the road.
So if it's a policeman with his camera will he stop you there and then, to give you the fine and points then? Haven't been flashed by a speed camera although there are lots around here, so I'm assuming that would come via the post.
Cheers

He certainly did to me.[quote]to give you the fine and points then?
Well if anything pops through the door within the next few weeks that looks a bit different to the normal post then I will know its possibly a letter. Gives me time to sweeten him up with favourite dinner then, as he doesn't get home till the evening and I will see the post in the afternoon.
Thanks for advise

Our ones always come in plain white envelopes, half A4 size whatever that is, and are franked and post marked SW London despite coming from an office in Sidcup Kent.Anyone know what the envelopes look like that speeding fines come in? Thanks for the info.
No wind up. I'm 30 and have been driving for the past 13 years and never had a speeding fine, and curious as to what it could look like, because as it's summer there seems to be more speed checks going on and as car isn't in my name I won't get to open it and find it.
Guess I will find out then if either of us ever get one.
