Evoque vs Q3 vs GLA vs Tiguan or....?

I need to get my gf a new car, thats big enough for her, our baby, prams, a friend of hers, her baby etc... so 5 seats, decent boot, and I'd prefer it to be 4wd for extra grip and small enough for her to park, but big enough to carry a couple people with kids and their prams etc.
So I was looking at:
- Evoque
- Q3 or Q5 (Q3 is probably big enough)
- Merc GLA
- Tiguan
I'm not sure right now whether to go new or used, or which one would be right. I think she'd be ok with any of them and whilst I think she prefer's the Audi's, she's not that fussy. So long as it's white lol!
Anyway, has anyone driven all the above, and what am I most likely to get the best deals on right now? Also, new or used? To be honest, it looks like if buying used, you'd be best off going for the Tiguan, whilst if you were buying new, the Merc or Evoque is "cheaper new" with the deals on offer than a newish second hand model.

I love Mercs but the GLA is tiny and feels like a hatchback on big springs.
Evoque is starting to feel a bit.......well.......you know.
Tiguan is pointless when you have the Q3 and Q5. Nothing wrong with it, but may as well go Audi and get better residuals.
Residuals - The Q5 is in the top 5 cars for residuals at the moment, which makes buying it used pointless. And the Q3 is not far off the size of it internally, I was surprised.
I was offered a 1.4tfsi Q3 with £3k off, and after 4 years it was valued at the same as the 2.0tdi which is £2k more. This brought it down to £250 a month, with £2k down, nearly £60 a month cheaper than the diesel.
Also, I found on a 90 mile round trip in both that the diesel returned 43mpg and the petrol 41mpg.
Same with the A3 1.4tfsi vs 2.0tfsi, both returned 48mpg.
With petrol being 8% cheaper it makes the 1.4tfsi not only a much nicer car but also cheaper as well.
Just my findings, they may help?

having looked for a family car earlier this year I concluded that Q3's boot is not big enough to handle pram, baby stuff and some luggage if going away for a weekend. I bough C Class estate which has more practical boot. Granted its not what you're looking for but maybe rather than look at Q3's you should be looking at A6 estate if you fancy all wheel drive? Audi Q5 is probably big enough but in my case it was slightly over budget for the mileage/age I was looking at.

A C-class? For God's sake, man - the OP has a baby! A baby!! What the juddering f
k are you doing even mentioning the idea of only two-wheel drive?! And anyway we all know that two-wheel drives have no grip especially when the's, y'know, a baby. What she needs is two tonnes of off-road capability.Sid's Dad said:

This is just for her. That's why it doesn't need to be toooo big, I already have a big car, she just needs a car bigger than a mini. It's not going to be our only car, just a practical family car for 2 people and a baby. At the mo I have my ML63 as the family car and she has a mini, but 90% of the time I'm driving on my own and she has our son.

New Nissan Qashqai? I got mine last week for exactly the duties you've mentioned and I must say it's excellent. Ours is a FWD 1.2-litre turbo petrol, which would be adequate for most folk, although they do also produce diesel and 4WD versions too.
I've no experience of the German stuff, but I frequently drive my parents' Evoque Si4 (2.0-litre turbo petrol), having covered around 12,000 miles in the driving seat. In terms of perceived quality and performance it's clearly on a different level to the Nissan, but when it comes to comfort and practicality there is little in it. I know it hasn't got a badge to impress your neighbours, but honestly give one a try - the Evoque is superior, although I'm not sure my parents' car is worth twice what mine lists at!
Failing that:
If you feel the supercharged V8 is overkill, try a diesel one. Parking lessons and winter tyres will sort any shortcomings.

looked at all of these except the GLA, boots crap on the Evoque and Tiguan, i'd go Q3 or Q5 if you can stretch to it... i ended up with the Tiguan as there's good deals to be had as there's a new one due soon. also looked at the Macan, great car decent boot too, you can't get one that's the issue

That was through a broker, the finance was with Audi, I think it was something alon the lines of £23000 (1.4tfsi se with black optics pack.) with £2800 discount, £2000 deposit and then £9k after 48 months, or £11k after 36 months. So it is the good residuals, that keep the price right down.
Lots of contract hire deals at that price too.
