Pick up truck advice

I am after some reccommendtions for a suitable pick up. I am doing a spot of rallying and need something that can tow the car on a trailer with ease. Carry a decent payload of tools and spares in to the bargain. Has a crew cab and is as comfortable and well appointed as possible for long hauls in Europe without entering the realms of huge American beasts. Has a good secure hardtop available for the cargo bay. Any thoughts and opinions greatly appreciated.

I am not sure about availability in the UK, but out here almost everyone drives pickups, all can be had with locking hard tops over the flatbed, or carryboy covers that are also locking.

They all come in high lift or standard ride height (so offroader or like the ute above) and are rated to tow 3000kg.

Choices are

Ford ranger / Mazda BT50 - same basic truck, I run a previous generation BT50 and looking to upgrade to the new ranger.
Toyota Hilux
Izuzu D-Max
Mitsubishi Triton

Think is supposed to be 2015 for a MY16.

Few disguised models have been driving round the eastern states, doing trials with BHP.
