Selling a car the nightmare begins

I put my Audi up for sale last night on here and had my first batch of emails from an interested buyer ( Scammer) regarding selling my car..
Apparently I'm getting paid via PayPal but can't pay via bank transfer or cash.
And my car is going abroad and the buyer doesn't want to see my car as they're housebound and a shipping agent is going to be picking my car up...
Also even though I've given my phone numbers she's unable to pick the phone up but at least she's trying to get a bargain as she's knocked me down on the price already lol.

I actually knew a housebound person that lived a couple of houses away from me who asked me to park on his drive so the house didn't look empty
when I moved he bought a cheap car

Vince, your car is gorgeous and I've just been browsing your advert. I'm trying to think of a good reason for not buying it as I was looking at this one.

It's a bad idea to buy your car isn't it?? I need to be talked out of this but I just really fancy a summer soft top for a change!!!

Just got a quote to see how much to insure it. That has not helped, I may be calling you... I need to find some will power to resist, lol!!

looked at this (online) myself when shopping for a convertible last week. Looks like a nice car but a bit step on the price for the age IMO

I had a few of those scammers as well when i sold my old car.

Strangely though, the first caller asked a few questions, came and gave it a good looking over, checked the history, drove it and handed over the full asking price.

No. But them, along with all of the timewasters, makes selling a car quite a draining process.

If your advert is good then the phonecall should be something like:

"Hi, is it possible to come and take a look at the car some point today or on the weekend?"

I sold them my 2011 S3 last week for just shy of 24k, it went through BCA bedford this week and sold at 22k.

Hi

I have had the exact same story from the exact same person, and as soon as I raised concern about security from receiving PayPal payments for the car, "she" went quiet.

The same story: offered to buy the car, agreed on a price and then said that she couldn't come and see it as she was housebound due to a health concern. When I offered to take the car to her she ignored it and claimed she had got a quote from a delivery company and I should send a PayPal request for the full balance to her email address.

I declined, stating I needed cash or at the very least a bank transfer, and everything went silent.

A quick google search of her email address led me here of all places.

So thank you for posting and confirming my suspicions.

I may be wrong about the scammer thing, but all the evidence points towards it. I will be overjoyed if I am proven wrong.

How odd. What sort of business thinks they can make money buying privately and then selling at auction?!?
