£2.3k hatch, what to go for!

Hi all,
First post go easy on me! About to sell my 1.3 2003 Ka[70] this evening, been trying to get rid of it for a while now, and now need a new car ASAP!
To be honest, I am quite picky and would like:

• 5 doors
• 1l-1.8l - 18yo insurance with no NCB
• bit of fun to drive
• double din

my budget is around 2.3k for the car alone, insurance I'd need to work out, I've currently been looking at Mazda 3's which I really like the look of, and I know they are a Focus, but seem better!

Any suggestions?

I had very similar requirements when I was looking to swap about 3 months ago, except doors weren't an issue but it had to have 100+hp.

As an 18 year old, with no NCB, I'd get something like a Sportka, or a fiesta Zetec S as they only have about 100hp, but are light enough (especially the Ka) to make them fun, some good rubber on them and they handle well.

Before getting into the higher performance get a couple of years NCB.

My little Fiat is a 1.4 Turbo unit with 120hp and 150lb-ft from the factory and is plenty quick enough to scare some Audi's! And at 20 with 2 years ncb I pay £600.
