Lying *&$@rs - car cameras

Well for the third time in 6 months I've come back to find some f
k-wit has parked with their car stoved into mine.
I make an effort to park away from the crowd, only in spaces that are big and only when the cars next to me arent dented, scratched, covered in fluffy toys etc.
So I was really please to see some tt had driven into the back of my car in the highstreet, left it there and got out to go about his business. To cut a long story short he was very apologetic and admitted liability so at least I will be able to get it fixed (again). Upon calling his insurance company they are now being tts and quite possibly denying responsibility. Ive got photos and Im sure I can get a witness from the local shops as they were all looking out the windows when I returned.
This is now starting to really piss me off. Ive seen all the dashcams on the web, is there anything that works to capture moments where a car is left and the army of mouthbreathing retards decent to inflict their inability to respect property.
Amazing thing is, my wifes car is in the bodyshop after another tt just drove into it whilst trying to park, luckily they were caught in the act.
What the fk is wrong with people, is there a techy solution to this?

Ah I really do feel your pain, I am sick of this carry on too!
We have had our new car for little under 3 weeks and already 3 marks on 3 separate occasions and been left on the car.
I have a dash cam in mine but solely for driving, most come with Shock sensors, so that might do the trick?

If it's on a high street there must be some CCTV coverage of the incident. All CCTV control rooms must keep footage for a minimum of 30 days (iirc). So go back to the scene of the incident, look around for premises with CCTV and go and ask for a CCTV request form, fill it out, and if they have any footage covering the incident, they are legally obligated to provide you with a copy (after blurring out everyone else's faces etc). It's all to do with the freedom of information act.
On the dashcam note, there was a thread a while back with a dashcam that caught a keying incident, so you can get Dash cams that continuously record when the vehicle is parked and off. Couldn't tell you which cameras do this though.

I would like a solution to this as I have a number of battle scars of this type.
On a previous Mondeo, a woman put a huge scrape down it and was just leaving the scene when thankfully a security guard asked if she was planning to contact the owner "I was going to come back and put a note on it- only I'm late for a meeting" yeah right.
This is the equivalent to someone mugging you for a hundred quid a time upwards and yet people get away with it.
The worst bash on my current car left behind red paint, cracked my bumper and scraped the headlight - there is no way she (or he) didn't realise they had done it.

I've got a very cheapo Blackvue (actually their budget range "Baros Technology" one) - even though it's no GPS, wifi link etc, it just turns on with the ignition and loop records.
It does offer parking mode though - if it detects shock or movement then it records. You need a "Power Magic Controller" which I think stops it from draining the car battery.
I have to admit I don't use the parking recording but all the Blackvue cameras seem to offer it. You'd probably need a forward and rear mounted camera to keep all bases covered...
