Ignore red light day

I've just watched a number of cars ignore red lights on a roundabout and dodge oncoming traffic. I've then witnessed the same cars and some others go in to a lane for turning right to skip to front of the traffic and then go through while it was on red

These were not young lads in chav type cars, there was a mixture of company car saloons, standard hatchbacks etc. I held my hands up to the guy behind as if to say 'what's going on' and he just did the same thing and shook his head

Am I missing something here? Is there something special about today that means they can drive like idiots?

Nothing "special" about today. In my patch of London/Surrey a red light merely means "two more please! (three at a push)"

I like to think of them more as guidelines.

Who'd've thought we had such a large undercover Police society and they would employ such an array of drivers in such a variety of new, old, small, large, fast, slow, commercial and private vehicles. Astonishing. Still, it goes some way to explain the national debt, I guess.

Nah, happens all the time. One roundabout on my commute I'd be surprised if there weren't people still steaming across in front of me when mine had already gone green.

Yep, people just learn which lights have cameras.

On the other hand I have seen some serious emergency stops at zebra crossings!

On the roads surrounding the trafford center me and a friend once witnessed three cars drive clean through a red like (that had been red for about 10secs at a crossing)

We figured one set off, then the other two's were half asleep and simply followed.

Similarly we looked at the car to the side of us and shook our heads, he did the same

dheads.

These weren't red lights that had just changed. We'd been sat at the lights for about 10 seconds and it was like they just got fed up. It must have been another 10 seconds after they'd gone before it went green
