What is wrong with people on pistonheads

Why is it on Pistonheads there are people who will defend people no matter how much evidence there is.

currently there is a few threads where this is happen

Liverpool fans defending Luis Saurez

The 2 Audi's Racing that hit the corsa killing 2 people are defending the fact they were racing and driving at speed

The thread where the op undertakes on a roundabout

why do people do it are they guilty of the same things?

The internet attracts a lot of people who are too stupid to hold down jobs.

It's a British thing. We have an ability to argue any position. We even do it just to argue.

What I'm more worried about is why so many on Pistonheads are so dispassionate about cars - they'll dismiss a Maserati as a money pit with more power than can be used in the real world and swear blind that a reliable diesel estate is what everyone should have. Why go to the effort of logging in to a site for car enthusiasts just to rubbish anything remotely interesting and bore everyone with MPG, peak torque figures and claiming that budget tyres make sense and people should drive even slower to accommodate them.

I don't log in to art websites to tell people that painting pictures is a waste of time when a smart phone camera can do a better job. Why do such obvious non-car enthusiasts bother to haunt this place?
