Car Lease- Daft Question

Firstly, happy Friday.
Secondly, as per the above, I bought myself an Audi TT through Audi and plan to hand the car back once the term is over (3 years) and move into something new and start again.
Question, when the car needs serviced, small then major etc, is there anything stopping me doing it myself?
When the three years term is up, it will not have any fancy stamps in the log book, but will have been serviced?

It'll be in your contract but I'd expect wording along the lines of 'serviced to manufacturers requirements'. If you think you can prove you've done that go for it but I'd expect that unless you are a trained mechanic it won't be worth the potential hassle / cost if they play hard ball (likely).CampDavid said:

More than likely this.There might even be clauses about 'Audi Approved Garage'.
There were some monopolies laws about warranties not being allowed to force you to use main dealers - but I'm not sure if it extend to leases.
Check the paperwork.
If it's anything like Mercedes then there will be specific contract wording that it MUST be done by a main dealer. I can see their point - they'll be wanting in all probability punt the car on through their own dealer network - a car without a main dealer service stamp won't cut it at all.
I had this same problem a couple of months ago - my SLK was due back a few weeks after the service "B" indicator came on. A service B is an oil and filter change and a brake fluid change (totally unnecessary at 2 years IMO - but helps them rack up a nice hefty fee for little work but they can hide behind the "safety" line). Plus "checks". Cost for this? £503 (plus costs for other stuff they'll find like air and pollen filters
After some maths it worked out cheaper to give the car back (you can run 500 miles past the service mileage) a month early and get the new one early.
Your situation with Audi is doubtless similar.

Don't worry too much about it. Despite a couple of horror stories I've handed plenty of lease cars back with things on them that haven't been picked up.
If you're really worried then look at voluntary termination. It's a bit of a loophole with Audi that lets you return the car early (even by just a month) and they don't take into account the mileage, condition, servicing etc.
