A few days in Geneva...why to drive to/visit?

I have from Friday night to Sunday aftermoon in Geneva, my thinking is hire a car, and find some of the better driving roads that Europe has to offer.

I'm just not sure where to go, and where to stay...I'm also a little concerned that alot of amazing roads will be less than heavenly given it will be a weekend in July.

Distances aren't a problem, but let's keep it reasonably sensible!

Other than early morning or late evening the issue of traffic etc etc can obviously be added to the fact that what 'were' some great hooning roads are now subject to the type of enforcement which will mainly just mean plodding around with the flow and enjoying the scenery.From Geneva you've got the choice of some of the big passes like the St Bernard or other roads like the Forclaz.Or around the Vaud and French borders area.But in general it's usually worth the bit of extra time to get to the Valais than staying around Geneva.

Have a look at the below link, Pistonheads went to that area in a Caterham and took in some great roads. I used it a reference for my Euro road trip and followed the route upto a point.

I did a Tour de Mont Blanc from Chamonix (less than an hour from Geneva) in the Caterham in a day

Route was Chamonix over to Martigny then over the Grand and Petit St Bernard passes and back round to Chamonix avoiding the tunnels.

Geneva to Verbier to Alpe d'Huez to Isola 2000 to Geneva.

Be mindful of any Tour de France preps.
