I cant imagine how the emergency services cope with the aftermath of serious incidents like this,getting the womans body out of the wreckage must have been awful.

There was an episode of - I think it was Traffic Cops - a few months ago that got me blubbing. This old boy had broken down on the hard shoulder or been in an RTA that left him unhurt but the car undriveable. So far so run-of-the-mill.
But then it turned out that he was on the way to the ferry for a WW2 veterans reunion, which he expected to be his last. He was absolutely adamant that he had to continue his journey, and the police officer at the scene took him to a car rental place and convinced them to rent this 90-year old guy a car to take on the ferry. Off he went.
And then on the voice-over at the end of the programme, the narrator announced that he had made it to the reunion, and had passed away there, amongst friends.
I think I had a bit of dust or something in my eye.
But then it turned out that he was on the way to the ferry for a WW2 veterans reunion, which he expected to be his last. He was absolutely adamant that he had to continue his journey, and the police officer at the scene took him to a car rental place and convinced them to rent this 90-year old guy a car to take on the ferry. Off he went.
And then on the voice-over at the end of the programme, the narrator announced that he had made it to the reunion, and had passed away there, amongst friends.

i remember that - it was a 206 that the woman was driving. He saw people stuck in traffic using mobile phones and gave every single one the biggest bolloking that you have ever seen
Coincidentally I saw this yesterday too and it had an effect. I really felt for the officer on his way back from breaking the news, trying to maintain his composure while faced with the usual tidal wave of poor driving standards.
I had to detour while driving into work this morning due to an accident involving a coach and a motorbike, in which it later emerged that the rider had died. Though obviously gutted for them and their family, I felt just as much for the emergency services. I don't think I could cope with the awful situations they have to.

Yep - dusty in my house that night as well.But then it turned out that he was on the way to the ferry for a WW2 veterans reunion, which he expected to be his last. I remember both of those episodes, but the one that really sticks with me was the one with the two Swedish? sister who were off their faces on drugs and were wandering on the motorway. When that episode was first aired it quite graphically showed one of the women getting hit full on by a truck, and going under the wheels - only to get up moments later and start trying to get away. The pair of them kept running into the motorway and causing chaos.
I've seen it since on Dave I think, and it has been quite heavily edited now.

The green 206 was it ( If I remember correctly ) ? Really stuck in the head this one , saw it many years ago. I think the lorry driver didn't even know that he had hit a 206 as it was so badly crushed and partly hidden under the lorry and the car in front of the 206.
How can people like this live with themselves , I would have to come clean straight away for doing something far less than this. There was a young lad in the paper recently who was doing 60 in a 30 and hit a little lad on his bike , killing him and injuring the father. After the killerstrial he was given some compassionate leave and was seen arguing with the family- he said to them st happens!
How can they do it...............
