If its as it appears/reported and they were racing on public roads, then I'm just glad to see that they didn't hurt anybody else.

It would have been tragic if they'd taken out some innocent driver. As it was, I'd say avoidable/stupid/irresponsible/Darwinian. On the bright side there's one less tt playing racers on the road...and hopefully his racey-boy mates will have wised-up to and decided maybe they should keep it on the track? The roads are just that little bit safer today.

No, all reports refer to an illegal street race so wont be missed one bit by other road users, sadly the same cant be said for the child they appear to have left behind. Makes them very special............

I wouldn't go so far on the latter part, but on the former - it's worth remembering there's a thread active in NP&E atm regarding a race that did result in the death of a bystander.

So yes, ultimately I'd rather the people who made the decision face the consequences.

Im not going to view that site at work, but on Liveleak.com there was a Lambo that had been cut/torn in half. The back half was on the road with its lights still working, the front half was some distance away in a field..... is that w this links to on Wrecked Exotics? or a different one?

Deliberately driving in a fashion that could easily result in a fatal accident is asking to be killed as far as I'm concerned, so yes, it was deserved. Thank God they didn't take any innocent lives with them.

To be fair the typical anti speed lobby supporters could probably have a hidden agenda in not liking the idea of unlimited autobahns and shouting street racing,regardless of the all the other possible scenarios,as one of the tactics in that agenda.It's obvious as part of that they wouldn't want to recognise the possibility that it is possible for a number of cars to be travelling at high speed in the right place with no intention of 'racing' whatsoever.

Having said that it seems that there's an increasing amount of people who've got the money.But who haven't got the ability to handle a quick/fast car when they get the opportunity.Which just gives ammunition to the anti speed lot.

The head guy at Ascari put it plainly - "a driver's talent does not increase with the size of his wallet" (or words to that effect).

I would never say I'm glad to know they died from it. You should never be glad of somebody's death, but I have no sympathy for them and quite frankly I couldn't care one iota for their deaths.

I do however feel for their families and the other victims injured around them.

The head of Ascari has it spot on.In which case maybe those who build such cars need to find out more about the driving history/experience/ability of those who buy their products either new or used.IE,assuming they've not been hit by something else or ruling out mechanical failure,if someone can't keep a quick car,let alone a fast one,between the lines on an autobahn then they really can't drive.

The 'Audi' topic didn't involve the accepted and reasonable autobahn speed regime and it's impossible to differentiate 'racing' from a number of cars running at such accepted reasonable autobahn speeds from the details provided.

IE typical anti speed lobby taking advantage of totally different circumstances to further their blanket anti speed agenda.The possibility of drivers with the money,but not enough ability,to drive the right car at a reasonable speed in the right place,isn't the same thing as idiots racing each other in a built up area where the appropriate speed is less than 40 mph.
