and this young people, is why your insurance is £3k on a £1,500 car. You may run into a laferrari (imagine the bill???? how do they get an appropriate hire car? - maybe a 918, they haven't sold out winktongue out )

What the juddering fk has that got to to do with this? I understanding your meaning, "it's not what you drive - but what you can hit" - but your comment just seems so out of place and unnecessary here. A foreign country with absolutely no idea on the drivers age...

Who hit whom?

(But I'm not so sure a minor fender bender can be considered "devastating".)

Sod off oldie, us young 'un have would have braked in time, snapped a pick, tweeted it all by the time you turned down the Archers and knew what had happened... wink

Shame, seems like a fairly low speed crash (I hope) you'd expect to see the first write offs done in a more 'spectacular' fashion up in the hills!

Ouch. Wasn’t there a posting on here just a few days ago that pointed out that many/most european insurers don’t cover Monaco?

Found it: http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=3&a...

This makes me very sad!

Ferrari are so strict on who can buy there cars but oddly have no limitations on the buyers driving ability?

Unless of course it wasn't the LaF drivers fault.

its a deeply deeply fugly car

its in obvious red

its location suggests its been potentially purchased as a status symbol rather than by a petrol head

but most importantly

ferrari for show mclaren for a pro

With it's face caved in, it kinda looks like a 458 with a barryboy Wide arch kit.

Clearly you've never driven either biggrin

To risk the wrath of some, that's an example of what carbon fibre does. It's not stronger than steel, it's lighter, but it also shatters rather than bends (either of course, will mean expensive replacements 90% of the time - I mean, who want a steel or alloy wing that's been beaten out on their supercar?), so it looks more of a mess than a crash in a metal bodied car would.
