F***ng useless drivers

Well, the idiots thread simply wasn't enough for what happened today.

Pootling along when a Fire Engine appears in the rear view mirrors about 100ft back. So I pull over, stupid f***ng moron driving M155 M** decides now is a good time to overtake me, so begins to do so, but wait, what is that massive red things with flashing lights and noise right behind her? She has no idea. But panics. And stops in the road next me cleverly blocking the entire road. After a few seconds she decides perhaps it might be an idea to GTFOOTW of the big red fire engine and moves forward and pulls over.

Is it wrong that I actually feel inclined to report this to the police non-emergency number?

Yes, I've seen car drivers do much worse when faced with blues and twos.

The problem could in effect be directed back to both the DVLA and ADI's
If the ADI's actually said to drivers, to pass your tst is one thing, i will take that a stage further and teach you how to drive in the ral world after you have passed.
And then go on to
how to deal with emergency vehicles
How to drive on motorways there are several 3 lane DC that they could use to simulate it
Defensive and proactive driving
How to negoitiate parked cars and the etiquette involved.....etc,etc,etc.
DVLA could then incorporate all this and perhap stuff i havent listed and when they are deemed compenent then they get the privilege of driving unaccompianed on the Queens Highway

But it seems the ADI only want to get them in/out and pass asap and onto the next..without considering that this bsic training is one of the main causes of problems on the road today, besides, if they do fail the first attempt is bck to the ADI and more cash in his pocket
After all th DVLA have tightened up the motorcycle test/training over the years, its about time someone looked at the four wheel brigade

Obviously one shouldn't block the road, and most of us wish to help the ES drivers, (it may however be an idea if they follow their own training from time to time).

We all know that legally we don't have to do anything though I guess ?

And in reality that is all that needs to be taught, it would stop the panick reactions some people seem to have.

I encounter a fat dopey woman in a black Ford Puma every morning and evening going to and from work who's always texting while driving whilst being generally a menace to society. One morning the guy in front of her stopped leaving a yellow box clear and she drove round him sounding her horn at him and giving him gestures and abuse before stopping squarely in the yellow box blocking the junction.

Lack of awareness of what's going on around drivers, lack of knowledge of basic traffic laws and poor attitude combine to cause a dangerous problem on the roads. The problem is, it's not a very specific thing to target with a shock horror television clip in the Coronation Street ad break and a slogan like "Speed kills." The government wants to be seen to be doing something about road safety but it wants a short term easy answer and a concept that the populous can grasp. Talk to a lot of people about observation and planning ahead and suchlike and they think you're a nerdy weirdo and really don't get it. So the real issues won't be addressed while we continue to get campaigns against specific and erroneous issues such as speed.
