Damage to rental car

Hi guys hope this is the right place to post this, I had a small collision while away in Australia in a rental car for which they are now screwing me for well over a grand so far!!
Was hoping someone could give me an idea or thoughts about what the cost of repairs are likely to be from the photos attached, appreciate any help thanks.

They're not the same car. Did you rent two cars and damage them both? I think you need to re-examine your driving technique.

Perhaps the colour change was caused by the accident... or perhaps, since car A is seen reflected in car B, car A and car B were involved in the accident, one of which is the rental car and the other the third party...

I assume you hit the blue car with the silver car? I don't think £1k is too OTT, if it includes all admin costs as well as repair costs. What insurance did you have?
