RE: Jaguar F-Type Coupe: Pic Of The Week

'Our' Jaguar F-Type Coupe has been making a lot of noise in Germany the last few days as part of our attendance of the Destination Nurburgring track day. Excitement ahead of that meant waking up far earlier than was required, inspiring a scenic route around the surrounding villages on the pretext of finding fuel. Super unleaded for the Jag, coffee for the driver.

Shattering the peace of the German countryside in a very noisy Jag - POTW with added vid content!
Apologies to anyone in the surrounding area who was expecting a lie-in too. We may have woken up the whole of the Eifel region in the process.

I have a decent windfall later this year and I half thought that I might buy an F Type when they came out with it.
Somehow there's something wrong with it and it just doesn't excite me at all. I thought it would.
I wonder if the fact that they haven't made an actual sportscar for forty years whilst others have done so continuously (yes Porsche I am thinking of you) has something to do with it.
E Types are something your Dad likes. This F type for me just doesn't look like anything - take the badge off and it could have been made by anyone of a dozen car manufacturers. That's not the case if I wanted a Cayman or a TT or Ferrari or BMW or a Mercedes.
And whilst that much noise is nice I'd want to be able to tone it down a lot because you could look like a right prat if it's like that all the time. Nothing sadder than a middle aged saggy bloke driving something with a banging/popping/booming exhaust through town. Tragic.
