Car viewing tomorrow

Tomorrow I am going to view a new car. The car in question is a Renaultsport Clio 200, it's very well priced, decent mileage and looks in good condition judging by the photos.
Obviously photos and a good decsription of the car don't tell the full story. I was wondering if anyone has suggestions of things to look out for, and opinions on the car itself.

BUT should you not have done your homework on the car before going to see it ?
I have never bought a car with out doing homework on the car and its issues first, pre day of internet I used to go to library and get haynes manuals to read as a pointer and speak to other owners

If it has keyless entry check both doors work by the handle as the sensors can fail.
Ask the owner the last time the pins were removed from the front brake callipers. If the don't know then expect a bit of hassle the next time the brake pads need replacing as the pins, being aluminium, can react and get stuck in the calliper. They should be removed yearly and copper slipped.
Check what tyres are on it currently. Continental Sport Contact 3 are the norm and it makes a huge difference to the handling if they differ.
Check all the gears engage ok as the gearbox isn't as well built as it should be; especially considering the short throw the linkage has (Normally the syncros that give up). You will need to keep in mind that you have to let the gearbox warm up before the changes should be smooth (In winter gear changes can be tricky!).
I owned one for 12 months and it was great. The handling is something to experience (Think go-kart!) but I couldn't get on with the ride (Mine was a full fat with the CUP pack).

Going to view the car is part of the homework though, its not as if I have already paid for the car without seeing it, or doing any research on it.good luck, maybe I am just too safe for my own good

The price is £8000, which seems to be quite competitive, however it is not the cup version.Has cambelt been done?

Cambelt is the one I want to check, if it has not been done I may ask for it to be done as part of the deal. It does have recaro's which is great.
I will be viewing at 2pm, so hopefully have some good news today.
The car was an absolute beauty, near perfect condition. The only blemishes were a couple of marks on one alloy, and a slight scuff on the front bumper. Both barely visible.
It has the recaro's, they were unbelievably comfortable. Also has brembos on all four, as well as continental tyres all round too.
I actually thought the interior was good, very similar to my current car so I can live with that. Definitely better than I had imagined.
Should be picking it up next week.
