Leaving car on road long term?

I'm going to be away from hme for upto a year i left my car on the road about 100m away from my house to avoid the trees and birdst. It's insured and taxed, is it going to be okay? It's only a fiesta...

Unless you live in a private road. Guessing not because if you did you would more than likely have a driveway or garage.

There's always other cars parked on the road and its overlooked by several houses and near a busy road...better get it moved then!

have you got somebody local who can keep an eye on it?

Maybe even give it a quick wash every month?
As mentioned above cars that havent moved in a while catch the attention of locals, usually in a negative manner.

neighbour of mine went on holiday for 6 weeks. Returned, handbrake seized on solid.
Eleventy million revs and a burnt out clutch eventually freed it off.

How much is it worth? If it's a £500-£1,000 car then I'd advise selling it. After all you'll have to pay for insurance and tax - which is going to be several hundred pounds for the year, completely wasted. Then you'll have to fiddle about getting it going again when you return; plus you'll have to worry about it whilst off. It's not really worth doing.

If it's an easy car to sell I'd just get rid of it and buy another car when you return.
