Finding the best finance special offers

Hi,

I'm looking at changing my Alfa Romeo Brera for a hot hatch, as I am finally bowing to the need for a bit more flexibility and making it easier to have two kids in the back!

Does anyone know any good companies for finance deals? I'm looking at options like an Audi S3 or Giulietta Cloverleaf, but most mainstream offerings don't cover the high end models like these.

I have heard of great deals, usually too late (like rumours of super low monthly prices for a M235 last year), would appreciate any tips on where to find them. I'm open to other manufacturers if there is a cracking deal to be had.

Why not pay cash, or buy a cheaper used car?

Finance is never a good way to buy a car.

Having spent a good few years working for a certain finance company that has some kind of equine animal painted in a colour opposite from white.

Now... it was a long time ago... however. We did the finance for

BMW
Toyota
Saab
Scania
Volkswagen
Audi
And a number of other brands.
(Pretty much all independent garages at the time )


You would ask the dealer to punch some numbers into his computer.

..........Our computer would punch some numbers into someone else's computer
...........We would get a figure back of 8% interest


We would give a figure to the dealer of 15% interest



That was pretty much the model.


Save up - and buy the damned thing.

Or.. treat it like a consumable Spend a given outlay every month - and just lease it. Get a new car every 2-3 years.

What's wrong with a bank loan and a car broker?

Or a lease?

Very rare for car finance, i.e., tied to a car that you might one day own, to be the best deal.

Nothing wrong with the other options!

I'm just looking at all alternatives, as I have no set preference. By saying finance, I would include leasing in that as an option.

I imagine that deals can arise if dealers or agents end up with too much stock, so maybe it's a case of being lucky finding them...

I work for a finance / leasing company. For what it's worth I'm pretty certain that Audi are the best on finance for the S3 over all the main leasing companies at the moment - plus on hire purchase / PCP there are often incentives to use Audi's own finance. Alfa are not as competitive as Audi, most brokers can get a deal that's better than Alfa offer themselves.
