Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction.....

Car A, insured with 6 years NCB. main car until purchasing car b
Insured car b and had to cancel car a's insurance to move over the NCB - car b sorted.

How do I insure car a whilst it is sold?

Options so far
1) temporary insurance, however this could be expensive if it takes a month or so to shift it.
2) insurance for a year and cancel (£340 less £75 admin, less various other charges. Budget say £150?!?)
3) you suggests/advice on a postcard

Will your current insurer not add it to your policy for a month or so? Ive done this in the past.

£45 a month. Tempting. May give my main insurer a call to discuss too

When I changed my van my insurers wouldn't carry two vans at once on my policy.
When my wifes car was changed her company allowed both for 2 weeks i think- so its worth a phone call.

I bought a temporary one for the old van which cost £80 for 2 weeks.

The van sold within 1/2 hour of the advert hitting the net but hey ho some you win some you loose.

Is the car likely to hang around?

With the temp stuff you can always extend the cover, but phone your insurer first

I am in the same boat.

Car A for sale, Car B bought.

Car A insured with my 9 years NCB & Car B insured with 0 years NCB as they wont mirror my NCB. I am also using 2 different companies as the company Car A is insured with wont insure Car B with.

I'm sort of in that same boat.

Car B bought and insured on its own policy (now the daily driver). Car A stored until insurance runs out so I don't cancel and lose this years NCD before selling it (only 2 months till it runs out).

Ok, maybe a completely different boat to you guys in fact.
