urgent mot question

Hi my mgf is due for its mot this morning.
The handbrake sleeve has just come off.
Its just the hand grip bit.

Does it need to be fitted or can I leave it off.

I am not an expert but I would imagine that if the handbrake mechanism is functional and passes the parking brake test on the rollers, the lack of sleeve won't be a problem.

Just push it back on and tape it up

As long as it's usable and there's no nasty sharp bits exposed, it'll be fine.

I'm sure it'll be fine, but to be sure, strip out some more of the interior, bits of plastic trim, passenger seat etc. and then when you hand in the key, just mention 'because racecar' and they'll understand.

Dont worry its a mgf they naturally fall off anyway
