Faulty battery - Should manufacturer refund me?
Discussion
My wife's car is 2 years old and covered 17k miles and last month without any warning, typically on the day we were moving house, the car was completely dead when we tried to start it again after a 3 mile run 15 mins earlier.
There was no warning or signs the battery was getting flat so we had to call out the AA as we were stuck at our new house with 2 kids waiting to get to school and the removal men waiting for us at our old place. Just over a hundred quid 40mins later it was all fixed but he said the battery was toast and a new one was fitted.
I've forgotten about things until today when our local dealer called saying there was a recall on our car due to the battery and they told me to call the main service number which I did and my case has now been logged as our battery had failed already.
I have to wait until next week for someone to call and they seemed helpful on the phone but should I expect a refund from what we paid the AA as it's a fault on a now known issue?

When I say the AA, it was actually the manufactures own recovery service we called as we have it included with the car and it just happened to be the AA who turned up.
It's just annoying to think had the battery lasted just a few more weeks, it would have been replaced for free but as we had a complete failure on it complety out of the blue, our circumstances at the time - and the ease of a quick fix - meant we had almost no choice to pay up.
