Redex.... Is it worth it?

Hi all, cars been running sluggish and losing power abit at times, supervisor at work reckons this should do the trick and clean the carbon build up around the injectors. Has anyone used this? Car is a 1.4 petrol

Generally it gets labelled as snake oil on here but someone linked to a test that they did on 5th gear IIRC which showed a big improvement in BHP when used on an old car.

Given how cheap they are in Costco for a multipack I thought it was worth a punt and have put about 2 bottles through my old x-trail which always used to smoke on full throttle and would occasionally go into limp mode when cold at full throttle due to slightly dicky fuel pressure sensor. Anyway, after two bottles of the stuff, there is definitely less crap coming out of the exhaust and it has never gone into limp mode since. So it has certainly done something.

I also tried some in my commuter hack focus (petrol) and it made no difference to performance or economy. But then it may not have needed it.
