Black Official looking Ford Galaxy cars in London.

I used to spend a lot of time in London but I'd not been there for a couple of years until last month.

In all the traffic, I kept spotting clean black Ford Galaxies. They didn't look like taxis. Spotted a few on the M25 too.

All the current model looking fairly high spec. They looked official somehow.

Was it just coincidence? Or government fleet transport? Met DPG? Or am I being followed by the MIB? :-)

Its just a taxi firm, do airports runs etc.

British airways have them as courtesy cars too. We used one when working at heathrow. An automatic, I expected to hate it but for cruising the M4 it was just the job.

I recently saw one..in Blackburn, Lancs!. Either the driver scored a stonking fare or it was nicked as I have always thought they were a London based firm.

Government cars my guess. When Tony Blair bought his 2 apartments in Clifton, Bristol he was shaufered every time in a black galaxy. Usually another one not to far behind it.

Not just Addison Lee. Our family got picked up by a driver using a black Galaxy mini cab at Heathrow yesterday.

I've seen a fair few unmarked flying around- often but not always as part of a convoy, I guess the sheer ubiquitousness of a black tinted people carrier makes them a pretty good plod stealth wagon. one minute there a couple of innocuous looking taxicabs parked outside the cafe, next second theres a dozen fat coppers screaming their heads off.
